Knowledge Platform, the leading ed-tech organization in Pakistan, has been commended by the Ministry of Information and Technology for being awarded a grant through the GSMA Innovation Fund for Mobile Internet Adoption and Digital InclusionThe fund was launched in April 2020 with support from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Deutsche Gesellschaft fȕr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the GSMA, and its members.

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Syed Amin Ul Haq, distributed certificates to the winners of the GSMA grant at an impressive ceremony held on Wednesday 2nd June 2021. Secretary IT, Dr. Sohail Rajput, Member International Coordination, Ajmal Awan, and senior officials from MoITT and GSMA were also present on the occasion. Addressing the ceremony, the Federal Minister appreciated the efforts made by Knowledge Platform for investing in the future of Pakistan through their education technology innovations.

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haq stated:
“Ministry IT & Telecom is fully committed to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Pakistan. The revolutionary changes in the field of telecommunication in Pakistan are now being recognized all over the world. The reforms in the telecommunication sector in Pakistan and the facilities provided to mobile operators have paved the way for investments in mobile networking in Pakistan. The Corona pandemic has changed the economic and social map of the world, and now, the priorities have changed in many areas. However, information technology and telecommunication is a sector whose formula has remained unchanged, and its use and trend has increased tremendously. Today is the age of information technology, and our youth will have to harmonise with modern technology.”

Knowledge Platforms’ CEO, Talhah Munir Khan said: “Affordable devices and 3G/4G internet access are barriers to online education. To solve this challenge, we want to launch an educational tablet. Also available on instalments, our educational tablet will come with internet access, personalised learning, digital content, games, assessments, and data.”

Currently, Knowledge Platform is working with 450,000+ students and 1,000+ schools across Pakistan.
